At Honey Barrett we know that busy professionals like you do not have the time to worry about your tax affairs. We make it easy for you.


Accessibility
You work long hours and do not have the time to devote to your finances.

That’s why at Honey Barrett:

  1. You can call us on a dedicated phone line just for medical practitioners for when you need an answer and it can’t wait. (We only offer this service to medical practitioners, because you value your own free time and we know you won’t abuse ours).
  2. You will shortly be able to access an area on our website dedicated purely to Consultants and Hospital Doctors, full of useful information and ideas.
  3. You may use e-mail and telephone – so you don’t even have to meet up with us if you are too busy.
  4. You can meet us ‘out of hours’ if you wish.


Bookkeeping

On a day to day basis, you need a system in place to record information required as quickly and easily as possible.

In many cases the simpler the system the better.

We can provide you with a system that will suit your needs. This could include:

  • A personalised folder to collect the information that we will need as you go through the year.
  • A simple computerised spreadsheet cashbook system for recording your income and expenditure.
  • Sage or other computerised accounting systems (ask us for a copy of our Sage brochure).

We can provide training in either manual or computer accounting systems – or we can do it all for you – it is your choice.


Certainty

Busy people don’t like surprises, we can:

  1. agree a fixed fee for your accounts and tax return including unlimited telephone advice.
  2. agree a turnaround schedule – so that you know when to expect to receive your accounts and tax return.
  3. file your tax return by internet (if you agree), this will speed up any tax refunds due to you and allow small liabilities to be adjusted via your code instead of you having to find a cheque.
  4. advise you of your tax liabilities well in advance, so you know exactly what to pay and when.


What’s the price for peace of mind?

An initial free consultation to discuss your needs is the best place to start but as a guide our fees (exclusive of VAT) start from:

£200 – for an employee with only minimal other income.

£450 - for a simple income and expenditure account and tax return (turnover probably <£50,000 p.a.).

£900 - for full accounts and tax return.

Retirement and Estate planning - capital gains and inheritance tax planning (for you and your family).

Financial services – we can refer you to an experienced IFA who will understand doctors.

Payroll services – use our payroll bureau if you employ a secretary or practice manager
